You’ve probably heard a lot of talk about Hemp Oil and CBD Oil and what they are used for and how to use them. It can get a little confusing with all the new products on the market since states have legalized Marijuana use for medicinal and recreational purposes. Here’s some information about the two types of oils and what they are used for.
Species of Origin:
Hemp Oil and CBD Oil come from different strains of the cannabis Sativa plant. Even though hemp oil and CBD Oil come from the same Genus and Species ( Cannabis Sativa) Hemp Oil is derived from a strain that has a very low cannabinoid count ( more on that later) CBD Oil, on the other hand, is derived from the stains you can find in your local dispensary.
Parts used to produce the oil:
Hemp Oil is produced from the seeds of the hemp plant much like oils derived from olives, almonds, and coconuts, CBD is produced from the flowers, leaves, and stalks of the cannabis Sativa plant.
Cannabinoid Content:
Hemp Oil has a very low CBD count (3.5%) This low concentration makes it all but useless as medical treatment. The Hemp Plant- and Hemp Oil, in particular, has vastly different uses when compared to CBD Oil. CBD oil, on the other hand, has a very high CBD count (20%) This high concentration makes it ideal for medical treatment for issues such as nausea, seizures, anxiety, depressions, and even cancer.
Hemp Oil and CBD Oil Uses:
Like olive oil or coconut oil, hemp oil is primarily a food item, it is also used for many industrial purposes including the production of shampoo, lotions, soaps, bio-diesel fuel, plastics, and paint. While Hemp Oil can provide benefits as part of a healthy diet, it is nothing compared to the health benefits of CBD Oil

CBD Oil is the first and foremost medicine. It uses include treatments for bone growth, bacteria growth, artery blockage, psoriasis, nervous system degeneration, high blood sugar, insomnia, muscle spasms, low appetite, chronic pain and much more….
Production Methods:
Hemp oil is produced by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant to extract their oil, it is very similar to the process used to produce many oils such as, olive, coconut, sesame, peanut oils to name a few.
CBD Oil extraction is done through a process called solvent extraction, a solvent like alcohol, butane, or co2 is forced across and through the cannabis Sativa plant matter where it separates the cannabinoids, terpenes, and trichomes. The solvent is then allowed or forced to evaporate leaving behind the cannabinoid packed CBD Oil.
To summarize, Hemp Oil is best used in your body and beauty products for its external benefits CBD Oil can be used topically or taken internally to assist in many different help issues and treatments. It is always recommended to consult your physician when considering using CBD Oil.
